Learn How To Play “Pompeii” on Guitar – A Quick & Easy Tutorial by Steve Stine!

Hey everyone,

Today I wanted to show you a really easy way to play the song “Pompeii” by Bastille. All you need to do is use four chords – C, G, E minor, and D. I’ll show you how to use the chords to play the intro, verse, chorus, and the rest of the song.

To start, I’m going to play the chords using minimal strumming. First, I’ll play a C chord, followed by a G chord, an E minor, and a D chord. Then, for the verse, I’ll play one strum per chord.

When it gets to the chorus, I’ll hit the D chord one more time, and then I’ll play the C, G, E minor, and D chords. After that, I might start strumming more or adding some up strums in between the chords.

The only real difference between the verse and the chorus is when they say “how am I going to be an optimist about this”. At this point, you’ll play a C chord, followed by a G chord, a D chord, and then a C chord and a G chord again. Then you go back into the verse.

Remember, when you’re learning to play a song, always focus on the primary G chord. Once you’ve got that down, you’ll be able to play the rest of the song with ease.

I hope this tutorial was helpful. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me in the comments below. Thanks for watching!
