Up until now, we’ve only been talking about open chords. These are chords that use all the strings, and they sound great. But, there’s another type of chord that’s really fun to learn, called a power chord.

A power chord is a movable chord shape. That means, you can take one shape and use it to play different chords. Before, D was just D, C was just C, and E Minor was just E Minor. But now, with a power chord, we can make all those kinds of songs by moving one shape around.

To do this, we’ll put our first finger on the sixth string. Then, we’ll put our third finger on the fourth string. Then, we’ll just strum the sixth, fourth, and fifth strings. This is a really simple way to play a power chord.

Power chords are used in lots of different types of music. They’re great for rock, metal, and punk, but they’re often used in pop, country, and blues as well.

Power chords are really fun to play, and they’re a great way to add some extra flavor to your playing. Give them a try, and see what you can come up with!
