Hey there everyone, Steve here again! I had a request from someone to show how to play “Wholehearted” by Extreme on an acoustic guitar in standard tuning. This song is a great example of a funky rhythm and strumming that requires a lot of groove. I’m here to show you how to do it, step by step.

First of all, let’s talk about the beginning of the song. You’ll start off with a D chord and move up two frets higher. Make sure to focus on strumming the bottom four strings. It’s important to understand the pulse of the song and the essential strumming points. That’s the foundation of the song, and you’ll add in the extra strumming as you go on.

Let me give you an example. Listen for the bum bum kin. That’s the strumming pattern you’ll use for the beginning of the song. Start off by strumming the D chord and move up two frets higher – that’s the basic pattern for the song.

Once you have the basics down, you can start to add in the extra strumming. That’s when you can really get creative and make the song your own. Experiment with different strumming patterns and chords to give the song a unique sound.

If you have any questions or requests for songs, just click on the link and I’ll be more than happy to help you out. Until then, have fun and get grooving!
