“Achieving Amazing Tone Without an Amp: My Experience with the Digitech Cab DryVR and Tech21 FlyRig RK5”

Hey there, it’s Steve Stine from Guitar Zoom! Recently, I’ve had to make some changes to my playing setup. As I’m playing in a church at the moment, I can’t use my usual amp setup. So I’ve been experimenting with different pedals and devices to get the most out of my guitar sound without the need for an amp.

One of the most recent pieces of equipment I’ve been using is the Fly Rig by Tech 21. This is a great little device, as it has a Sans Amp which I can direct straight into the PA system and get a good sound.

However, recently I came across a new pedal by Digitech called the Cab Driver. I wanted to explain what I’m using and show how I’ve been able to dial in a good tone without the need for an amp.

I’m really enjoying using the Fly Rig. It’s a great piece of equipment to bring on tour, as I can dial in my guitar amp to sound neutral and then run the pedal in front of it to get my usual sound. This is a great way of getting around the problem of having to use different amps night after night.

It’s been difficult to adjust to not having an amp on stage, but I think I’m getting the hang of it. If you have any suggestions on how to improve my setup, please let me know!
